Highlights:
What is ACPEN? For the thirteenth year, TSCPA is joining the Accounting Continuing Professional Education Network (ACPEN) in an innovative and cooperative effort to help you, the CPA, gain the skills and knowledge that you need to succeed into the future. What do the broadcasts look like? ACPEN broadcasts are professionally produced, with a format that typically includes a panel of three to eight national experts. The panel will use discussion, demonstration or specially developed case studies to cover accounting, tax and other professionally important topics. All ACPEN broadcasts are fully interactive, allowing attendees to ask questions of the panel during and after each event. Do I just sit and watch TV for eight hours? ACPEN broadcasts are designed to be interactive and participants are encouraged to participate in every facet of the broadcasts. Bring your cell phone so you can call or email ACPEN and enhance your interaction with the panel. You can help guide the broadcast content! Ask questions in advance by using acpen.questions@businessprofessionals.net. Pose questions or fact situations the panel can respond to during the broadcast. You can literally help design the program. TSCPA will provide electronic course manuals for all ACPEN programs. Once you register, you will receive an e-mail containing a link to the electronic course manual. Since ACPEN broadcasts are designed to be as up-to-the-minute as possible, the manual content will not be finalized until the week before each broadcast. Other details to note: " Lunch is not provided. " Manuals/handouts are available via electronic access only. " Scheduled start and end times are different from regular CPE courses and conferences. " If you have any questions, please email cpe@tscpa.com before registering.

Description:
DURING THIS COURSE PARTICIPANTS WILL BE WATCHING A LIVE VIDEO PRESENTATION FEATURING A PANEL OF SPEAKERS. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE THE ABILITY TO INTERACT WITH THE SPEAKERS VIA PHONE, EMAIL OR FAX. This ACPEN course will include a panel of national tax practitioners and experts reviewing the latest federal tax acts enacted during 2010, affecting individuals, corporations and other business entities. This year's update promises to be very important because of the unsettled situation in Congress, with mid-term elections scheduled for 2010, the enormous deficit and newly proposed programs requiring additional funding, a slowly rebounding economy from the unprecedented economic crisis of the last two years, along and fallout from the financial bailouts and stimulus programs. The panel will focus on providing practical advice useful to practitioners during the upcoming tax season, beginning in January 2011, as well as December 2010 year-end planning. In addition, the panel will explain the latest IRS initiatives under the new administration, new regulations, revenue rulings and court decisions that impact the way you advise your clients. The panel will review the tax law changes that have expiration and phase out dates and the affect that the changes will have on clients. In addition, Social Security Reforms and Tax Code simplification are, as always, on the stated agenda of the newly organized Congress. Our experts will focus on the most important tax developments that will be in place by December, 2010. We can't tell you now what the changes will be but we can guarantee the best information anywhere on current tax issues.current to the day of the broadcast! Explore in detail the latest statutory, regulatory and judicial developments impacting tax issues. Get the latest details and all the developments in this up-to-the minute tax program that you won't want to miss. Program Chair: Linda Bradley McKee, CPA, Ph.D., Assoc.
