TSCPA's award programs recognize outstanding individuals for high performance, dedication to the
profession or the community, and other achievements. Take this opportunity to nominate a colleague who
merits special recognition.

Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award
This award recognizes a full-time or retired accounting educator who has made significant contributions through teaching as well as through active involvement in the profession.
The winner is submitted for national consideration of the AICPA Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award.
Discussion Leader Award
This award, established in 1998, recognizes the top continuing professional education discussion leaders who receive the highest average evaluations in a given year. Recipients must be TSCPA members with an evaluation score of at least 4.75 out of a possible score of 5 in the previous year.

Award
This award acknowledges the journalistic skills of the author(s) of the article selected by the committee as the highest quality article published in the Tennessee CPA Journal in the previous year.

Tennessee CPA Journal Student Manuscript
Competition
This competition encourages Tennessee undergraduate and graduate students majoring in accounting to address, in writing, those issues which affect the accounting profession. TSCPA’s Editorial Committee sponsors the contest and awards the top three authors a cash prize.

Outstanding Contribution to the Tennessee
CPA Journal
This award recognizes an outstanding article or series of articles published in the Tennessee CPA Journal.
Past Recipients
Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry Award
This award recognizes the contributions to the CPA profession of a CPA working outside of the public accounting realm. Nominees should be TSCPA members who have worked to blend information technology, financial decision-making and progressive management techniques, helping business move forward.

Outstanding CPA in Government Award
This award has a twofold purpose. The first is to recognize the achievements of a TSCPA member employed in government. The second is to promote the CPA designation as the premier professional credential for accounting, auditing and finance professionals in government.

Public Service Award
This award acknowledges a TSCPA member who has distinguished him or herself in public service activities. The society is seeking nominations for those individuals known to be actively involved in their communities, whether in humanitarian, civic, government, church or professional activities. The TSCPA Public Service Award winner is submitted for national consideration of the AICPA Public Service Award.
