360 Degrees of Financial Literacy, AICPA, www.360financialliteracy.org On October 3, 2008, President Bush signed H.R. 1424, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (the "Act"). The Act, often referred to in the media as the "bailout" or "rescue" bill, is a legislative package that is made up of the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP), the Energy Improvement and Extension Act, and the Tax Extenders and Alternative Minimum Tax Relief Act.
