Andrew K. Lowe, ASA, MAFF, ABAR

Andy Lowe serves as the LBMC Knoxville Market Leader and head of the Valuation & Litigation Support Services group in LBMC’s Knoxville office. Andy is an Accredited Senior Appraiser and Certified in Entity and Intangible Valuations with the American Society of Appraisers, a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics with the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, and Accredited in Business Appraisal Review by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

Andy performs valuation engagements for transactions, corporate planning, gift, estate, and income tax planning and reporting (valuation of closely held businesses and business interests), and intangible asset valuations including business combinations (ASC 805) and goodwill impairment testing (ASC 350). Andy also provides litigation support services for both family law (including business valuation, forensic accounting, division of marital estate, etc.) and commercial litigation (including economic damages, forensic accounting, etc.). The balance of Andy’s practice focuses on merger and acquisition and business transition services (including both buy side and sell side representation). Andy’s experience spans a broad range of industries and his clients range from business owners in small, closely held companies to C-suite executives in large public corporations.

As the Knoxville Market Leader, Andy focuses the balance of his time on LBMC’s role in the Knoxville community, recruiting new leaders to the firm, business development, strategy, and other firm growth initiatives.

He received a bachelor’s degree in management from Carson Newman College and an MBA with a finance concentration from Middle Tennessee State University. He has continued his education through ongoing continuing professional education programs offered by various professional groups.

Andy is active in and continues to support many professional and civic organizations, including the Knoxville Estate Planning Council (KEPC), the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA). Andy serves on the board of directors and the executive committee for The Muse Knoxville where he works as the organization’s chair elect. Andy also serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement of East Tennessee and is an active classroom volunteer. He is a member of Nucleus Knoxville and was recognized as one of the Knoxville Business Journal’s 40 under 40 in 2018. Andy is a current member of the Leadership Knoxville Class of 2019, a graduate of Leadership Knoxville’s Introduction Knoxville Class of Winter 2015, and is a past member of the Introduction Knoxville Committee. Andy is an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church where he regularly volunteers to assist in children’s ministry activities.

Andy is an avid outdoorsman, spending much of his time hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, trail running, and fishing. Andy is currently attempting to hike every trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and he and his wife Julia are in the process of section hiking the Appalachian Trail. As a former collegiate golfer, Andy also spends a portion of his free time working on his golf game. He enjoys these activities the most in the company of Julia and their three kids, Ellie, Lucy, and AJ.

Kimberly Still

Profile Ms. Still has been with Crowe LLP since June 2010 in the State and Local Tax Services Group. Ms. Still has over 18 years of experience in the state and local tax area specializing in sales and use tax and leads Crowe’s National Sales & Use Tax Compliance Outsourcing Practice.

Professional and Industry Experience Prior to joining Crowe in 2010, she consulted with PricewaterhouseCoopers for five years in sales and use tax. She also managed the sales and use tax compliance processes at Wendy’s/Arby’s Group and Kennametal, Inc.
Ms. Still has significant experience in consulting in sales and use tax with a variety of industries. She provides state tax consulting services to both multinational companies as well as middle market companies.

Lucas W. Hankins

Mr. Hankins is a SALT Senior Manager in the firm’s Knoxville office. Though currently in his first year with Crowe, he has nearly 15 years of tax experience with Big Four public accounting firms. His experience includes a broad range of state tax areas including financial accounting, planning, organizational structuring, compliance, credits/negotiated incentives, site selection, and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Hankins has spent the majority of his career in state and local taxation assisting a diversified mix of middle market, large corporate, and partnership clients with tax and compliance projects, financial accounting, audit defense, and credits and incentives maximization. He currently acts as the firm’s Georgia SALT Resource as he did for ten years with his previous firm.

John D. Houston

JOHN D. HOUSTON, CPA is the founder and principal of John D. Houston CPA, a local Chattanooga CPA firm that is celebrating its 29th anniversary. His more than 40 years of public accounting experience in the Chattanooga area includes 12+ years with two national accounting firms. Mr. Houston’s tax consulting and CPA services firm provides tax compliance and consulting services for business clients including manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, real estate investors and developers, and professional service providers. His individual and fiduciary practice provides tax compliance and consulting services for business owners and executives, professionals, investors, self-employed individuals, and estates and trusts. His tax expertise includes providing clients with income and estate tax compliance and consulting services, tax consulting on business acquisitions and sales, business entity consulting, and client representation before the Internal Revenue Service in cases involving audits, appeals, and collection issues. Mr. Houston is a frequent speaker on Federal income taxation with emphasis on recent tax legislation and current developments. He is active in the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and a former Chairman and current member of the Federal Taxation Committee. He is a former TSCPA Chattanooga Chapter president and served two terms as a TSCPA board of directors’ representative. Mr. Houston has also served as board chairman and treasurer for the Southeast Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross and is a past president of The Estate Planning Council of Chattanooga. Mr. Houston is a 1977 highest honors graduate of the University of Tennessee’s College of Business Administration where he majored in accounting and management science.
