Amelia Hart will be our speaker for this month’s meeting, presenting an A&A update in both the lunch meeting and the afternoon session.  Please register early for the afternoon session, as seating is limited, and free sessions are generally in high demand.

Instructors

Ingrid A. Hart, CPA, CGMA, DBA

Dr. Amelia Hart is a Chartered Global Management Accountant and holds licenses as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Tennessee and Georgia. In addition to being a practitioner and an academician, she serves on the Accounting Career and Education Committee for the Tennessee Society CPAs.

Within the profession, Hart has over a decade long experience in consulting, administrative support and management involving accounting systems, process management, financial reporting oversight and internal controls over financial reporting. Her professional experience spanned industries such as banking, manufacturing, hospitality, church/nonprofits organizations and real estate.

Within academia, Hart is recognized for her ability to engage, connect and communicate complex accounting principles that challenge the learner to become a critical thinker and decision-maker. The academy has equipped her to engage diverse constituents in common dialogue as a platform for new ideas, shared viewpoints and opposing perspectives. Her ancillary roles on committees such as Faculty Senate, MBA Admissions, Academic Integrity (Chair) and Diversity Initiatives (Director) engages her administrative strengths. Her decade-plus experience in academia included teaching at Lee University (Cleveland, TN) where she was a tenured faculty member and Accounting Discipline coordinator, the University of Tennessee Knoxville (part-time) and Lincoln Memorial University, Knoxville, TN.

Dr. Hart remains engaged in her community with service on the Board of Directors of nonprofits and a presenter at Continuing Professional Education (CPE) seminars, churches and other civic organizations. She is a member of the American Accounting Association, American Institute of CPAs, the Georgia and the Tennessee Society of CPAs.
