Please join the Nashville Chapter for our October meeting at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs. We will enjoy a TSCPA Committee Update and Tennessee State Ethics.

Please register by Thursday, October 11. A late registration fee of $30 will be added to all registrations beginning Friday, October 12.

Mason Barrick

Mason Barrick

Mr. Barrick has extensive experience in state taxes, particularly corporate income tax. His previous experience consists of over twenty-one years with the Tennessee Department of Revenue, including fifteen years in corporate income tax. He has considerable supervisory and managerial experience having spent over fifteen years in various supervisory and management positions with the Department of Revenue, including three years as the Internal Audit Director.

Mr. Barrick is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a B.S. degree in Business Administration and a major in accounting. He has continued his education through ongoing continuing professional education programs offered by various professional groups and universities.

Mr. Barrick is active and continues to support many professional and civic organizations, including: Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), a statewide organization of CPAs; youth sports programs in Brentwood, including years of coaching Junior Pro and AAU basketball and Brentwood Civitan baseball teams; Former Treasurer of Brentwood High School P.T. O.; serves as Secretary of the Athletic Bruins Club at Brentwood High School.

A native of Nashville, TN, Mr. Barrick resides in Brentwood with his wife and two children.

Kathryn L. Grant

Katie Grant, a manager in the assurance services department with KraftCPAs, has more than nine years of public accounting experience and has been with KraftCPAs since 2011. Katie works on various assurance engagements, including not- for- profit audits, employee benefit plan audits, and audits for manufacturing companies and service providers.

Geoffrey L. Stewart, CPA, CGMA

Geoffrey is a partner at WSW CPAs. He provides planning, consulting and compliance services for a diverse range of clients. Geoffrey uses his skills and experience in federal and state taxes as part of the overall strategy to assist clients in building net worth. Geoffrey also represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and various states regarding income, franchise and sales and use tax audits.

Geoffrey has more than 35 years of experience in both private and public accounting. With five years of experience as a part owner and operator of a small business, he understands the day-to-day needs and challenges of running a business. This experience, along with 30 years in public accounting allows Geoffrey to deliver real business acumen in dealing with the complexities of WSW clients in an ever-changing marketplace.

Geoffrey has an undergraduate degree in finance from Auburn University and moved to Nashville when he graduated in 1983.

Robert K. Weatherly, ABV, CFF

As an Assurance Partner with Cherry Bekaert’s Nashville practice, Bob Weatherly provides assurance and consulting services to growing middle-market companies in a variety of industries. He has more than 30 years of experience advising clients with financial and operational matters.

Closely-held and family businesses seek Bob’s assistance with audit, accounting and financial reporting issues, litigation support needs and business valuation services for acquisitions, divestitures, gift and estate planning, and corporate reorganizations. Bob is Chair of TSCPA’s peer review committee.

Perry G. Moore, CPA, CGMA, CIA, CRMA

Dr. Perry Moore is Professor of Accounting and Director of Graduate Business at Lipscomb University in Nashville. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, and is Certified in Risk Management Assurance. A Nashville native, Perry graduated from Lipscomb with a degree in accounting and then completed his graduate studies at the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia.

For the Tennessee Society of CPA’s, Perry is a member of their Professional Ethics and Accounting Career Education Committees. Perry has also directed their “Accounting Academy”, a program designed to attract high school students to accounting careers.

Perry is active in the Institute of Internal Auditors. He has served as a Past-President of their Nashville Chapter. Perry is also a Past-President of Delta Mu Delta, an international honor society for business majors.

Perry provides training for CPAs across the state of Tennessee on Professional Ethics. He serves as a member of the CPE Standards Working Group for the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). In 2015, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs honored Perry with their International Teaching Excellence Award. He has also received teaching awards from the Tennessee Society of CPAs, Lipscomb University, and the University of Georgia.
