The TSCPA Leadership, Empowerment and Accelerated Development Program (LEAD) is designed for accounting professionals 35 and younger. LEAD empowers participants to excel in their current roles, with an eye toward helping them advance to the next level.

This in-person, immersive program combines the benefits of peer-to-peer learning with participants from other organizations with practical follow-up tools for sponsors to apply the learning experience to their specific needs. A bonus virtual session approximately 30 days after the event provides a follow-up on progress and an opportunity for troubleshooting real-time leadership challenges.

  • Day 1: Leadership Foundations (1-5 p.m.)
    • Explore your leadership style and build your personal foundation.
  • Day 2: Essential Leadership Skills (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.)
    • Enhance emotional intelligence, communication, and delegation.
  • Day 3: Taking Your Leadership to the Next Level (8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.)
    • Develop coaching skills, utilize AI, and plan your next steps.

Speakers

Jonathan R. Lokhorst, CPA, PCC

Jon is a leadership coach, corporate trainer, keynote speaker, and the author of Mission-Critical Leadership: How Smart Managers Lead Well in All Directions. He works with organizations to develop leaders everyone wants to follow, build teams no one wants to leave, and deliver exceptional results.

Before launching Lokhorst Consulting LLC, Jon enjoyed a 30-plus year career as a CPA, CFO, and organizational leader. He has a Master's in Organizational Leadership and is recognized by the International Coach Federation as a Professional Certified Coach. He also serves as adjunct faculty in the School of Business and Nonprofit Management at North Park University.

Jon is member of the National Speakers Association and serves as President of the Minnesota chapter. On a personal note, Jon loves grandparenting and being "Papa" to his four adorable littles, as he calls them.
