Laura Beth Butler, CPA, CGMA

Butler serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of First Citizens National Bank and First Citizens Bancshares, Inc. She also serves as the Bank’s Chief Risk Officer. Ms. Butler joined First Citizens National Bank as Chief Financial Officer in 2004. Ms. Butler is a Certified Public Accountant and previously served as Senior Audit Manager of the banking practice of a local accounting firm and as a senior accountant/auditor for KPMG LLP. Ms. Butler holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting from the University of Memphis.

Butler is Past President and Vice President of West Tennessee Chapter of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), Past Chairman and Member of the Young CPA Committee for TSCPA. Ms. Butler has served on the Financial Institutions Committee for TSCPA for 15 years and served as Chairman for the past two years. Ms. Butler is a member of the American Bankers Association’s Accounting Committee and also currently serves on their Accounting Administrative Committee. She is a member of American Business Women’s Association and previously served as Treasurer as well as member of the Audit Committee, Fundraising Committee and Business Associates’ Night Committee. Ms. Butler serves on the Dyersburg State Accounting Advisory Committee and has previously served on the March of Dimes Steering Committee and Dyer County Relay for Life Silent Auction Committee.

Christopher Kuehl

Dr. Chris Kuehl is a Managing Director of Armada Corporate Intelligence. He provides forecasts and strategic guidance for a wide variety of corporate clients around the world. He is the chief economist for several national and international organizations – Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, National Association of Credit Management, Finance, Credit and International Business and the Business Information Industry Association. He is also the economic analyst for several state accounting societies – Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee and Kansas.

Prior to starting Armada in 1999 he was a professor of economics and finance for 15 years – teaching in the US, Hungary, Russia, Estonia, Singapore and Taiwan. He holds advanced degrees in economics, Soviet studies and East Asian studies.

Chris is the author of Business Intelligence Briefs and Executive Intelligence Briefs - both publications from Armada. He is also responsible for the Credit Manager’s Index from NACM and Fabrinomics from the FMA.

Omar Hinojosa, CFA

Hinojosa is a senior consultant at Taylor Advisors, where he works with over 100 financial institutions throughout the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest regions. He began his banking career as an investment officer for Lone Star National Bank in South Texas. He later moved to Dallas, Texas to serve as asset/liability manager for Town North Bank and served on the advisory board for the Lone Star New Markets Private Equity Fund. Omar has also been a speaker at various bank trade association and for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas on Interest Rate Risk and Liquidity Management. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the Louisville CFA society.

Richard T. Hills, Esq.

Helping financial institutions reach their goals is the singular focus of Richard Hills’ legal practice. Whether representing a de novo community bank or a well-established bank holding company with regional operations, Richard has earned a reputation for his ability to solve problems for financial services clients with unique needs and specific strategic objectives.

Over a legal career spanning nearly two decades, Richard has played a critical role in helping financial services clients grow through mergers and acquisitions, stock and debt offerings and other capital raising activities. Richard assists financial institutions with corporate formations and restructurings, recapitalizations, corporate governance, and a host of complex regulatory issues. He also has extensive experience representing financial institutions in examinations, investigations and enforcement proceedings before federal and state financial institution regulatory agencies. Richard also represents public and private trust companies in Tennessee in the organizational process and in connection with ongoing operational matters.

Prior to joining Waller in 2014, Richard was a partner in the Financial Institutions Team of Womble Carlyle’s Capital Markets Business Group in Atlanta.

John P. Shelly, CPA

Shelly has over eight years of experience with Crowe Horwath LLP in the Nashville, Tennessee and Dallas, Texas markets, managing engagements of various sizes, as well as providing accounting and assurance services to financial institutions with complexity ranging from de novo institutions to large accelerated SEC registrants in markets throughout the country. J.P. manages various employee benefit plan audits, as well as engagements related to compliance with various governmental programs (U.S. Housing and Urban Development, etc.).

Shelly’s experience includes audits of financial statements and internal controls over financial reporting for various financial institutions, audits of compliance with governmental programs, consultation on initial public offerings, second step offering, and subordinated debt issuances, and consultation on accounting guidance related to mergers and acquisitions. J.P. is active in internal learning and development initiatives, including content development and instructing.

Gina Pruitt is the member-in-charge of risk assurance & advisory services with KraftCPAs. Her responsibilities include IT audit and consulting, risk management, internal audit, HIPAA compliance reviews, PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) compliance, network security assessment and network vulnerability assessment, Sarbanes-Oxley audits and service organization control (SOC) reviews.

Gina has more than 25 years of experience. She spent 10 years in Big 4 public accounting as the partner in charge of the Nashville practice of enterprise risk services (ERS) with Deloitte & Touche. Gina was also the national healthcare industry partner for ERS where she led the development of a national healthcare compliance consulting practice, a national NCQA certified HEDIS consulting practice, and a national HIPAA assessment and implementation consulting practice.

In addition, she was the southeast regional director for internal audit services at Deloitte & Touche. In this role, Gina managed various procedures for all internal audit clients in the southeast region. Annual audits consisted of financial, operational, IT and fully-integrated audits.
