Beverly Horner to Receive TSCPA Award for Public Service
Beverly L. Horner, CPA, CFSA, MBA of Columbia, is to be presented with the TSCPA 2018 Public Service Award on Oct. 16.
Each year, TSCPA honors a member of the society who has distinguished him or herself in public service activities with the Public Service Award. The award recognizes an individual for his or her active involvement in humanitarian, civic, government, religious or other professional activities.
Horner celebrates her thirtieth anniversary with KraftCPAs this year as member-in-charge of the assurance services department. As co-practice leader of the firm’s not-for-profit industry team, Horner has worked extensively with various not-for-profit organizations, including hospitals, governments, health and welfare organizations, religious organizations, trade associations, arts and cultural organizations, foundations, schools, and civic organizations. This experience has enabled her success in both professional and civic endeavors.
Horner is heavily involved with organizations serving Columbia and the Maury County community at large including Leadership Maury, Maury Alliance (the Maury County Chamber), South Central Tennessee Family Center, the James K. Polk Association, the Maury County Boys & Girls Club, and the Columbia Rotary Club. She also currently serves on the board of directors for the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee and on the advisory board of Maury Regional Hospital. Horner also remains highly active within her church, First United Methodist in Columbia and serves as a board member for the United Methodist Foundation for the Memphis and Tennessee conferences.
Horner is incredibly generous with her time and many talents, making a positive impact at work and within the community around her. Horner is to receive her award at the Nashville Chapter meeting on Oct. 16.
