A survey of simple strategies from several local CPA firms that both CPAs and attorneys can utilize to help navigate the unique income tax and estate planning needs of high net worth and high income individuals and their related holdings. Participants will explore a practical application of several tax concepts that all taxpayers with disposable income should pursue, as well as some more advanced concepts that create significant long term tax savings for those with the foresight to share these insights and those with the discipline to carry the planning out.

Christopher B. Davis, CPA

Chris is a tax partner with Aprio’s Atlanta office. He works with high-net-worth individuals and families. He helps clients identify federal, state, local and international tax credits and incentives that save money and support profitability. He has considerable experience helping private and public clients navigate the complex calculations and disclosures related to ASC 740 compliance as well as preparing financial reporting.

Claude E. Blankenship, CPA, CGMA

CJ Blankenship is the Managing Partner at the firm and consults with clients and the BCPAG team on the most challenging tax, accounting, management and financial matters. He is a National Merit Scholar and received his Bachelor of Business Administration with honors in Accounting from Belmont University.

He has over twenty years of management experience in a variety of industries and service sectors and had worked at Crowe Chizek (currently Crowe Horwath, LLP) and RSM McGladrey, Inc. prior to joining the firm in 2007. CJ was admitted as a partner in the firm in February of 2009 and has served as the managing partner since.

Over his career CJ has performed a variety of consulting services for hundreds of clients, including serving in an outsourced CFO capacity for an international manufacturing and distribution company with operations and customers around the globe.

CJ spends his workdays on mergers and acquisitions, not-for-profit consulting and compliance matters, planning (particularly with tax favored investment strategy), management consulting, tax compliance, accounting systems and matters for businesses, not-for-profits and individuals, and manages the day to day processes and strategic direction of the firm.

CJ has a heart for Christian ministries and is the Founder and President of Christian Recovery Houses, Inc., and consults with several not for profit boards. He has also served the TSCPA Nashville Board and Federal Tax Committee, and has served as the Treasurer at the Tennessee Christian Chamber of Commerce. He used to spend a lot of hours with the guitar and Christian song-writing, playing golf, camping, hunting, fishing, writing and exercising. Now, he is blessed to have married up to his lovely wife Amanda, and spends most of his free time as a father of two wonderful sons and a sweet little girl to round out the brood.

Anita Hamilton, CPA/PFS, CGMA

Anita is a senior director of personal financial strategies at HORNE where she works closely with high net worth individuals, family groups and business owners to provide financial and tax planning services including exit planning, retirement and estate planning. Anita continues to consult in federal and state tax consulting for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts and nonprofit entities.

Anita has more than 25 years of public accounting experience in tax planning focused on individual, estate, gift and retirement planning.

Anita earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Union University. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and Personal Financial Specialist providing specialized planning in retirement, succession, business exit planning, employee benefits, estates and charitable giving. Anita also holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation.

Jerry A. Moss, CPA, CVA

Jerry is a Member at KraftCPAs where he serves as practice leader of the firm’s tax services. His Middle Tennessee public accounting career dates to 1996. Over the years Jerry has served clients across a wide spectrum of industries including manufacturing, construction, real estate, healthcare, professional services, and entertainment.

Jerry has extensive experience in the taxation of high-net worth individuals, corporations, and pass-through entities. This experience consists of tax planning and consulting, IRS representation, and merger and acquisition consulting in addition to routine tax compliance.
