Instructors

Davis K. Dyer, CPA

Davis Dyer is from Hendersonville, TN, and currently lives in Old Hickory, TN with his wife, Julia. After completing undergraduate and graduate accounting degrees at the University of Tennessee, Davis began his career in assurance at Ernst & Young in Nashville where he worked for three years. His primary audit industry experience included financial technology and manufacturing. After EY, Davis began a full-time cohort at Nashville Software School where he grew data analytics and software development skills. Currently, Davis is entering his third year as the CFO at Davidson Academy, an infant-12th grade private school in North Nashville.

Caroline B. Hardin, CPA

Caroline is a Tax Manager at PYA in Knoxville. She has five years experience supporting clients with federal and state compliance and advisory matters. Her experience includes preparation and review of federal and state tax returns, income tax planning, and tax notice resolutions for corporations, partnerships, and S-corporations. She primarily assists clients in the real estate and professional services industries.

Hardin earned a Master of Accountancy degree and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is active in the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Luis Ortiz, CPA

Luis Ortiz is an International Tax specialist at EY with five years of experience across Big Four firms. A licensed CPA since 2022, he works regularly on cross-border transactions and leads teams through annual compliance reporting processes.

Originally from Honduras, Luis came to the U.S. as an international student and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2020. During his time there, he served as class president and vice president of the student body, and received the "Top Gun" award for the highest score in the Major Fields Achievement Test.

Outside of his professional work, Luis enjoys playing soccer in recreational leagues and spending time with his wife, Carissa, their goldendoodle Riley, and their hedgehog Theo.

Kelly S. Crow, CPA

Kelly Crow, CPA, began her career as an intern with RBG and became one of the firm's first full-time tax staff hires after graduating from Christian Brothers University (CBU). Over her 15 years at RBG, she advanced through roles such as tax senior, manager, senior manager, and now partner. She focuses on compliance, consulting, and planning for various clients, including private clients, real estate partnerships, auto dealerships, nonprofits, private foundations, and employee benefit plans. She also has extensive experience with IRS and state representation.

Kelly is actively involved in TSCPA, serving as the 2024-25 TSCPA Chair. She has also served as President of the Memphis Chapter of TSCPA. At the national level, she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and serves on the AICPA Council. In 2019, she was selected for the AICPA Leadership Academy. Locally, Kelly has volunteered with the CBU Alumni Association Board, the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, and the Greater Memphis Chamber Young Professionals Council.
