Director of Member Engagement & Development

Description

The Director of Member Engagement & Development is responsible for designing and executing strategies that attract, engage, and retain TSCPA members. This position develops and leads member recruitment and retention strategies, builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders in the accounting profession, and ensures the Society delivers meaningful value to its members.


QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate excels in developing data-supported growth strategies and relationship management, and has outstanding communication and presentation skills. A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a member engagement or business-development role is preferred.


MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Relationship Development with Stakeholders and Prospects
• Build and maintain productive working relationships with members / prospective members, their employers and other stakeholders to support membership growth. This may include membership development presentations / meetings at CPA firms, member employers, or related organizations.

• Develop and oversee execution of firm relations strategies, including firm administrator outreach, firm visits and other employer-based initiatives.

Membership Data Analysis & Oversight
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for membership development, including but not limited to new members growth, annual membership retention, and member engagement metrics. Routinely monitor and report on membership trends.

• Oversee administration of member database and data integrity processes to leverage insights and identify trends using member data. This includes routine review of membership-related dashboards, reports, etc.

Membership Development Strategy
• Develop and maintain TSCPA’s overall membership development strategy, including recruitment, retention and engagement plans for various member and prospective member segments. This includes but is not limited to annual membership renewal, new member onboarding, prospective member recruitment, member engagement programs and resources, etc.

• Collaborate with communications staff to craft targeted messaging that supports and drives membership growth and engagement and to communicate member value propositions through TSCPA publications and online channels.

• Partner with the professional development team to integrate member engagement opportunities into conferences, events, and online education programs.


Other:
• Serves on staff Senior Leadership Team and directly supervises membership-supporting staff.
• Attends and may present at Society Board, Council and select Committee meetings.
• Monitor budgets and actuals for all areas of revenue and expense related to member engagement and development activities
