Dena Jackson, CPA

Like many TSCPA members, TSCPA Controller Dena Jackson, CPA, fell in love with accounting in high school. “I took two introductory accounting classes and thought it was so interesting and fun! I credit my high school teacher for introducing me to accounting, so when I got to college, taking accounting classes was a natural next step,” she says.

In her role at TSCPA, where she has worked since 2013, Dena is responsible for accounting oversight, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting and forecasting, and internal controls. Her favorite part of her job is assisting members. Dena says, “I enjoy talking to our members on the phone when they need help with something like registering for an event or a dues question. I’m always glad to be able to help.” She adds, “I also have the best coworkers around. We have a great group of people who are dedicated to our members and are genuinely enjoyable to work with.”

A Knoxville native, Dena earned her undergraduate degree from Maryville College and graduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University. She currently lives in Nashville with her husband, their three children and their Goldendoodle. Outside of work, Dena stays busy with her children’s sports practices and games, and in her free time, she enjoys walking her dog with friends and reading.
