Bonner Receives Lifetime Achievement Award From Tennessee Society of CPAs

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Andy Bonner Jr., CPA, of New Tazewell, was recently presented with the Tennessee Society of CPAs’ (TSCPA) 2025 TSCPApex Lifetime Achievement Award.

The TSCPApex Awards Program recognizes the many ways that individuals contribute significant time, energy and intellect to developing the accounting profession and fostering its success. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given in recognition of a TSCPA member who has exhibited leadership, made significant contributions to the profession, and had an outstanding record of service to the society and the local community.

Bonner has been an advocate for the accounting profession his entire career, making his mark at the state and national levels. After receiving his CPA license in 1985, Bonner began his career as a staff accountant and moved up to principal, working on the audit of First Century Bank for many years. In 2010, he transitioned to working for the bank as executive vice president and CFO. Currently, he is the CFO of Homesteader Trailers.

A TSCPA member for 39 years, Bonner has served the society in many leadership roles, including as 2010-11 TSCPA Board Chair. He has also held leadership positions on multiple committees and in the TSCPA Appalachian Chapter. Bonner is currently a member of TSCPA’s Financial Institutions Conference Planning Committee, where he has served for 35 years, as well as TSCPA Council.

Bonner has played a central role in other professional accounting organizations as well. He served on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Council and was one of eight AICPA members worldwide chosen to serve on the Americas Region Advisory Panel, the AICPA committee representing those working in management accounting. Bonner also served as chair of this committee. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), where he currently holds the position of board treasurer. Bonner is also past chair and a current member of the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy.
